Jace Redmond Smith, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving patients at the main location of West Tennessee Bone & Joint Institute in Jackson, Tennessee. His clinical specialties encompass general orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement and reconstruction, including the utilization of the anterior approach for hip replacement.
A native of Jackson, Dr. Smith attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, where he graduated with Honors in 2013 and was inducted into the AOA Honor Medical Society. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Marshall University in Huntingdon, West Virginia.
While in residency, he was awarded the MSK Senior Educator of the Year for 2017 and 2018 by his peers. The year following residency, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, MS.
Prior to joining the team at West Tennessee Bone & Joint Clinic, P.C., Dr. Smith served as a team physician for Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky, and Huntington High School in West Virginia while in residency. During his fellowship, he served as team physician for Jackson State University and Warren Central High School.
