General Summary: A non-exempt position providing physical therapy modalities and treatment procedures as determined by a treatment plan established by Physical Therapist in accordance with established clinic and departmental policies.

Position: Full-time

Hours: M-F, 8A-5P

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provides care in accordance with physician’s orders, protocols, and established plan of care developed by evaluating therapist.
  2. Takes measurements of patient status, within the limits of his/her licensure and ability, as appropriate in providing care and to assist in assessing the effectiveness of care.
  3. Maintains communication and collaboration with the evaluating therapist to promote maximum benefits from therapy.
  4. Implements education plan as outlined by the evaluating therapist, determines additional educational needs of the patient, family, care giver or significant other as they arise and in collaboration with the evaluating therapist provides education to meet those needs.
  5. Maintains proper documentation and records for patient charts.
  6. Follows plan for discharge and discusses with evaluating therapist any additional discharge concerns which arise during care.
  7. Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit of care.
  8. May be asked to assist at satellite Therapy Clinics and will receive mileage reimbursement.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by Director.

Education: Physical Therapist Assistant with the State of Tennessee.

Experience: One year of job-related experience preferred.
